At Minnesota Premier Tennis, we offer a summer tennis camp for boys and girls taught by our experienced and passionate tennis instructors. With over 30 years of tennis teaching experience, our instructors are world-class athletes and tennis players who bring both their expertise and their love for the game of tennis to the court. Our mission is to help our tennis campers believe and achieve, both on and off the tennis court.
About our Director of Tennis - Patrik Segfeldt
Patrik grew up outside Stockholm, Sweden and was a nationally ranked junior tennis player and was also a member of the Swedish junior World Cup ski team. Patrik came to the United States to play Division 1 college tennis on a full scholarship at University of Central Florida. Patrik has an extensive background teaching both adults and juniors at country clubs throughout Florida, Connecticut, Minnesota and Sweden.
Patrik has extensive experience managing a very large junior development program at the Racquet Club of Boca Raton, in Boca Raton, Florida. At the Racquet Club, Patrik helped develop Florida’s top junior tennis players. During his five (5) year tenure at the Racquet Club, Patrik had ten of his students receive full scholarships to play college tennis. In addition, Patrik’s students have competed at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, which is the second best junior tennis tournament in the country, second only to the Junior U.S. Open.
After the Racquet Club, Patrik went on to be the Head Pro at Woodfield Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida where he managed 24 full-time tennis pros and 10 part-time tennis pros. Prior to relocating to Minnesota in 2018, Patrik was the Director of Tennis at Mizner Country Club in Delray Beach, Florida where he served as the Director of Tennis for almost fifteen (15) years. During his time in Minnesota, Patrik was the Director of Tennis at Woodhill Country Club in Wayzata, Minnesota.
Patrik is a member of the United States Professional Tennis Association (“USPTA”) and has attained Elite Professional status. Patrik held the USPTA number one ranking for doubles in Florida in the under 35 division and held the number two ranking for doubles in Florida in the under 40 division. Patrik has been married to his wife, Jaime (who he met on the tennis courts at the University of Central Florida) for over twenty (20) years and has a 17 year old daughter Emma, who is a soccer goalie, and a 15 year old son, Niklas, that is a hockey defenseman.
Patrik is excited to bring Minnesota Premier Tennis to the families of Minnesota focusing full-time on the development of junior tennis players of all abilities. Whether your child has the talent and desire to pursue competitive tennis or whether it is to instill the fun and love of the game in kids to enjoy the sport of tennis for their lifetime, Patrik and his staff are here to meet the needs of your child.
